Tommy’s first film Coming Down the Mountain (BBC1) was nominated for a BAFTA (Best Single Drama). Since then Tommy has won several Best Actor awards for lead roles in short films at film festivals in the UK and overseas. He joined the cast of Line of Duty on stage at the National Television Awards in 2021 for his role as Terry Boyle.

The documentary Growing Up Downs which featured Tommy paying Hamlet was nominated for an International Emmy.

In July 2021, Tommy received an hon. Doctor of Arts at the University of Winchester,

Tommy is a full member of BAFTA, an Ambassador for Mencap, Ambassador for the National Down Syndrome Policy Group, and Patron of the Portsmouth Down Syndrome association.

With Producer Roanna Benn accepting the Radar PEOPLE OF THE YEAR HUMAN RIGHTS MEDIA AWARD for Coming Down the Mountain and arriving at the BAFTA Television Awards where Coming Down the Mountain was nominated as BEST SINGLE DRAMA

Receiving the BEST ACTOR award for Fighter from Ben Wheatley at Oska Bright film Festival. Tommy was also nominated BEST ACTOR  at Chelmsford film festival.

Fighter won  BEST FILM at FILM LONDON, was selected as SHORT OF THE WEEK at the  BFI London Film Festival, nominated BEST FILM at Chelmsford Film Festival, and officially selected for Lift Off Global Berlin and Cinequest.

‘Down and Out’ was officially selected for 22 festivals in the UK and US including the International New York Film Festival,   Finalist at TMFF (Glasgow), award winner Frostbit International Indie Fest (Colorado USA), semi finalist Los Angeles CineFest and nominated best overall film at the Birmingham International Film Festival.

Tommy was voted BEST ACTOR at the Suffolk film Festival https://twitter.com/Suffolk_Shorts/status/1447586787430387717 and received an HONOURABLE MENTION for his acting talent in Innocence at the 17th European Film Festival Koszalin, Poland. Innocence was long listed for a BAFTA, selected for 23 festivals, nominated for the SILVER DRAGON AWARD at the Oscar-qualifying 60th Kraków Film Festival, WON THE DON QUIXOTE AWARD at Kraków Film Festival, Won BEST SHORT FILM London Lift Off, Won BEST ENSEMBLE CAST at Lift Off Global Season Awards. At the International EMMY AWARDS in New York with brother, Will Jessop, Director, Growing Up Downs BBC1 and BBC3 which featured Tommy’s role as Hamlet and was nominated for an EMMY

Receiving the CDN GROUND BREAKING PROGRAMME AWARD for Growing Up Downs with Will Jessop, from Jonathan Ross and Gok Wan

At the National Television Awards for  Line of Duty which won two awards

Tommy has been nominated for the Breakthrough Journalist award at the Edinburgh TV awards for his film for Panorama BBC One with Hardcash “Will the NHS Care for ME”.
